When a mechanical package is in trouble
We are usually called in after something has gone wrong. A mechanical subcontractor has been terminated or gone into administration, an installation has failed inspection, or the works have been left part-complete with no clear path to certification.
By that point the programme is already under pressure and the builder needs a contractor who will look at the problem and price it, rather than walk away from it. It is work few mechanical contractors will take on.
Assessment
Start with what is actually installed
Before anyone can price the remaining works, we establish what is physically there and how far it differs from the documented design — pipework routes and sizing, equipment selections and locations, ductwork, controls and electrical connections.
That includes what has already been concealed above ceilings and in risers. Inherited work we cannot verify gets opened up and checked rather than assumed, because the cost of finding out later is always higher.
Completion
Through to a compliant handover
From there we rectify what is defective or non-compliant, complete the outstanding installation, and take the system through balancing, commissioning and certification — the same process we run on our own design and construct packages.
The package is handed over with the documentation the certifier and the building’s operator need, and we can carry on maintaining the system afterwards if the client wants continuity.
